10th Anniversary of the Beatification of Mother Clara

10th Anniversary of the Beatification of Mother Clara

CONTINUALLY CHALLENGED TO HOLINESS

Today we recall the 10th Anniversary of the Beatification of Blessed Maria Clara of the Child Jesus.
What has her life offered us and what does it convey to us, as the Church presents her as a model of holiness, for the times and circumstances in which we live?
What challenges? What inspirations? What incentives?
At any age and in any place, Jesus invites us to be holy, like our heavenly Father, to be His image and fully like HIM. And how does this happen? What is to be done?
This is the question asked by Mary, Mother of Jesus, Maria Clara of the Child Jesus and so many others, people like us, who have become saints making of their daily routine a novelty, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, who looked at problems as challenges... of all that is so simple, almost always only visible to God, as an opportunity that bears fruit in a choice of life in the Spirit that sanctifies.
Ten years after her beatification the Sister of the Poor, Maria Clara of the Child Jesus affectionately, Mother Clara, ours, of our land, continues to challenge us because she is so close to us and to everyone the world over!
If Sister Maria Clara could, why not me? What prevents me from being happy, blessed, like her? What was her anchor that took her to the path of sanctity? What was the road she followed to success? What does her curriculum vitae say?
Her glory was the Cross of the Lord Jesus, by which she climbed the most high place. Her wealth were the poor. Her great faith and boundless love in an intense self-giving reached out to all. Her nourishment, God with which she daily satisfied her longings, Light that flooded her with clarity in the search for goodness, kindness and beauty of His presence hidden in every brother and sister to be embraced, of His will, of truth, of the Gospel values, of new horizons waiting to be well accomplished.

Mother Clara, help us, to dare to be happy, like you, which means, to be holy
as the Father is Holy, who created us all brothers and sisters, in Jesus, through the Holy Spirit! Amen!
