February 2 is drawing near, a day dedicated to make God's love for man, for woman, for the entire universe shine in the most diverse ways through the various forms of Consecrated Life in the Church. This is the call that the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CIVCSVA) makes in this year's message to all consecrated persons. It says to us, “Let us be the Samaritans of these days, overcoming the temptation to withdraw and cry over ourselves or to close our eyes in the face of the pain, suffering, poverty of so many men and women, so many peoples… In our proximity, let us dare to be close to those waiting for us, to open our ears and our eyes, to reach out to those who most need an outburst, a smile, a support, a help on our part. We have many means at our disposal. And as the Holy Father has often warned us, let us first look at those who live beside us, in our home, in our Family, in our Fraternity, in our neighborhood ”.
This letter calls us to create ways to accompany; transform and create; to develop projects that promote the culture of encounter and dialogue between different peoples and generations; starting from one’s own vocational community and then reaching to every corners of the earth and every creature, because, never as during this pandemic, have we experienced how everything is linked, everything is related, everything is connected (cf. LS) And continues: therefore in the light of this dream that is entrusted to our hands, to our passion and to our perseverance, this coming 02 February will once again be a beautiful feast to praise and thank the Lord for the gift of our vocation and mission!
