The Pilgrimage of the Franciscan Hospitaller Secular Family of the Immaculate Conception – FASFHIC, occurred on May 06 and 07, 2023, in Linda a Pastora, Lisbon.
On Saturday afternoon, May 06, pilgrims from various regions of mainland Portugal and the Azores convened. Following a warm welcome, FASFHIC members explored the different symbols present in the garden, at the main entrance, and within the chapel of the Generalate.
A conference was held in the auditorium, where Fr. Hermínio Araújo, OFM, delivered a presentation on the theme “Arise and be a Franciscan Hospitaller.”
After dinner, attendees assembled in the auditorium for a prayer vigil, holding lit candles. Together, they proceeded to the chapel, where they shared a unique moment of spiritual communion. The vigil concluded with a pilgrimage to the Crypt, where they prayed individually at the tombs of Blessed Maria Clara of the Child Jesus, and Fr. Raimundo dos Anjos Beirão. They left in silence, their hearts filled with the presence of God.
The next morning, participants visited the Congregation’s memorial, watched a video presentation, and explored a museum displaying exquisite artifacts. Fr. Herminio presided over the Eucharist to conclude the event.
All the attendees departed with feelings of joy and hope grateful for having been part of this profoundly meaningful experience.
